The Port of Tacoma’s Strategic Plan centers on six interconnected foundational goals that reflect our commitment to economic vitality, environmental leadership, organizational success, transportation advocacy, workforce development, and community connections. 

The Port of Tacoma partnered with the City of Tacoma, the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, the City of Fife, and Pierce County on the Tideflats Subarea Plan. In December 2025, the Tacoma City Council approved the plan, which advances a shared vision that balances economic vitality, environmental restoration, and community well-being in one of Washington's most critical industrial areas.
